John Z. Robinson brooches

John Z. Robinson brooches

It's the end of January: the sidewalks are scorching and there's a sense of the back-to-school blues in the air. So we felt refreshed when these characterful brooches arrived in Royal Jewellery Studio, fresh of John Z. Robinson's bench.  There's a skull with a slightly morose mouth, a cat with pierced ears, and a mask with a ring through its nose: could be a llama, or perhaps a kelpie with unusual ears? Each one comes with an abundance of personality, and together they look like a group of oddball friends. We wouldn't mind getting a cold drink with these three.

Skull brooch: sterling silver, topaz eyes, 18 carat yellow gold.
$773
Cat brooch: sterling silver, star diopside eye, golden topaz eye.
Can be worn as pendant.
$518
Mask brooch: sterling silver, garnet eye, onyx eye.
Can be worn as pendant.
$545
